# Cannabis Legalization Debate Simulator ## Overview This project simulates a debate between two participants: one who is in favor of legalizing cannabis and another who is against it. The debate consists of multiple rounds, and each participant provides their arguments based on their predefined roles. The project uses the `Mistral` API to generate responses for the debate. ## Dependencies - Python 3.x - `random` module (standard library) - `Mistral` API client (assumed to be installed and configured) ## Setup 1. **Clone the repository**: ```sh git clone cd ``` 2. **Install Python dependencies**: Ensure you have Python 3.x installed. Then, install the required dependencies using `uv`: ```sh uv sync ``` 3. **Configure the Mistral API key**: Make sure you have your `Mistral` API key configured. You can set it in the `participant.py` file or as an environment variable `MISTRAL_API_KEYMISTRAL_API_KEY`. ## Running the Debate Simulator To run the debate simulator, execute the following command in your terminal: ```sh uv run app.py ``` This will start the debate simulation, and you will see the output in your terminal. ## Logs The logs for each participant's messages are stored in the `log/` directory. Each log file is named after the participant's class name (e.g., `ProParticipant.txt`, `ContraParticipant.txt`). ## Contributing Contributions are welcome! Please fork the repository and submit a pull request with your changes. ## License This project is licensed under the MIT License. See the `LICENSE` file for more details.
